Winter Cycling Conference 2019

The 2019 International Winter Cycling Conference is coming to Calgary this February 6-8. As part of our ongoing People on Bikes YYC project, we are offering a paid residency in partnership with the City of Calgary for two photographers to capture artful, beautiful photos of everyday people on bikes from February 4-8, 2019 as part of the conference.

 

Who are you?

You are passionate about photography and are looking for a cool project to use your talents for the forces of city-building in Calgary. You have a good eye and high attention to detail. You’re adept with shooting outdoors and care about promoting cycling culture in Calgary.

 

Requirements

  • Available part-time between Monday February 4 and Friday, February 8, 2019 (times will vary)
  • Passionate about photography, currently studying, working or practicing in photography
  • Confident and experienced working with SLR cameras, tripods, and outdoor photography
  • Comfortable biking with your camera in the winter will be an asset

 

Fees

Photographers will be paid a flat fee of $500 for their work.

 

Joining People on Bikes YYC

In addition to being part of a kickass team that’s building support for more bicycle infrastructure in Calgary you will be profiled on our website with links to your personal portfolio and info. We will be working with you to showcase your work across our social media platforms. To date, we have had widespread exposure across Calgary with features in ShifterGlobal News and the Calgary Herald - including a full feature 6-page photo spread in Swerve Magazine.
